Join Us and Become a Trustee for Share (Portsmouth)
We are looking for two new Trustees to join our board and play a crucial role in steering how we achieve our mission to make it easier for the people of Portsmouth to reduce carbon, waste and raw material use through repairing, sharing and reuse projects.
We do this by running several initiatives, including Repair Café Portsmouth and Portsmouth Library of Things. We have a small staff team and over 50 volunteers and have recently secured 3 years of National Lottery funding alongside other grants to help build our sustainability.
Who are we looking for?
We’re particularly interested in hearing from those with experience in:
- HR
- Finance
While all applications will be judged on merit alone, we do welcome applications from those individuals from groups who might be especially under-represented on our board.
What are the trustee commitments?
Share (Portsmouth) is governed by its board of trustees who are responsible for the strategy of the organisation and ultimately legally and financially responsible for the governance of the organisation:
- trustees meet a minimum of four times per year,
- most trustees also attend additional meetings during the year dependent on their role.
Day-to-day running of the organisation is delegated to the Chief Executive, Clare Seek, who is accountable to the board of trustees.
How to Apply
This is a great opportunity to use your skills to support our city, develop your leadership skills and make a real difference to the people of Portsmouth. If you’ve got the skills we need, we want to hear from you.
