Why do we need the map?
There are approximately 880 million unused electrical items stashed away in UK homes, that’s a staggering 40 items per average UK household according to Material Focus.
Part of the solution to the climate crisis is to ensure our gadgets last longer and when they’re no longer usable, that we make use of the many precious metals and components that are in them.
Many local residents have told us that they simply don’t know what to do with their unwanted gadgets, so this map is one way that we are helping people to give their items a second-life.
Does our map need updating?
We’d love your help in keeping this map up-to-date. Spot something missing? Visit the map and click ‘Add item’. Something incorrect? Find the entry on the map and click on ‘Suggest Changes’. Thank you for helping us keep this map up-to-date and useful for everyone in the city.
